The symposium will take place at the Riverside Country Club in Rothesay, NB - a bright, elegant space overlooking the Kennebecasis River.
This event has been approved by the Canadian Paediatric Society for a maximum of 6.75 credit hours as an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The specific opinions and content of this event are not necessarily those of the CPS, and are the responsibility of the organizer(s) alone.
The Newborn Symposium is hosted every two years by the Department of Pediatrics in collaboration with the Division of Neonatology at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Now in its seventh year, the symposium brings together healthcare professionals from across the Maritimes for a full day of knowledge sharing, professional development, and meaningful dialogue centred on the care of newborns and their families.
Held in November in recognition of National Child Day and World Prematurity Day, the event highlights the importance of early life care and neonatal outcomes through a multidisciplinary lens. From cutting-edge research to real-world clinical practices, the symposium offers a carefully curated agenda that features expert speakers, and a space for collaborative learning.
With a focus on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Family-Centered Care, and interdisciplinary teamwork, the Newborn Symposium is the only event of its kind in the region - serving as a vital platform for providers to stay current, build connections, and advocate for newborn health.
